Walking with Jesus all her life
Walking beside Him through joy and strife
Walking for Him, her life she did give
to Walk for Him, oh let me thus live.

Just a little poem in honor of my dear Mother, who passed away on her 91st birthday. She was a poet, a follower of Christ, a music teacher. There are so many things I could say about her, and it is hard right now to put it all in words. In her last three or four years she was concerned at times about being a "good example" to her three daughters. She was a wonderful example in many things. Mostly, and what I have thought about most often in the last month, she lived a good example of how to grow old gracefully and graciously. Although tired of a weakening body and frustrated by her physical and mental limitations, she was always thankful for the help offered her by caregivers and family. She was joyful, "composing" her life story in her mind on the eve of her passing. Oh to be that JOYFUL when my time comes.
